Hello all,
Needing some guidance or advice on building a chambered board from some extra cyrpus and cedar I have in my wood shop. Are there plans available somewhere or at least a template that I can use. I would also like the board to double as a SUP.

It will probably turn out quite heavy. Not worth the effort for a sailboard, buy a second hand one. It is however worth building a wood kayak. the wood boards like starboard a re actually foam with ju d t a thin 0.8mm wood veneer on the outside.

The builder did a terrific job on it.

i have seen bruce sail this the very first time it went pretty good.but you could hear it coming a mile away as it echoed badly ,the round holes in the deck were to repair it as the bottom delaminated from the inside ribs caused by the pounding and flex of the bottom .it is hard to build a wooden board that is light and stiff enough to handle the flex and stress at the glue joint . by memory it was strip plank cedar on ply frames ,a work of art and a credit to the builder.if you dont want it send it up here

Thanks for that bit of history Greg I wondered about the round holes in the top deck. I gave it a run one day and yes very noisy. I am trying to contact Bruce to see if he or one of his children or grandchildren want it back. Its going to waste sitting in my shed, it should be on display somewhere.
