Help needed please from nuevo "pilots".
I am after a big volume board to use with very light wind and good sizable dtl waveriding (i am 65kg). I was contemplating a 101L or 110 L nuevo for both its wave riding ability and ease of initiating a turn by a lighter person. My other board is a 77L starboard Quad. Any assistance greately appreciated.
One of the lads up this way has the 101 and from all reports it is a light wind machine. Doesn't feel nearly as big as it is, turns well and still holds in ok in stronger wind.
sailed the 110 this afternoon
it works! I found the mast foot had to be placed back from centre to get onto the slippery part of the rocker. I was using it with a 6.2 Blade - i am 87 kgs.
These are dedicated wave boards though - the rocker is what i would call medium - ie not fast but not super slow and draggy either.
The Nuevo 80 feels slipperier but prob can be as it can turn more off its outline at this size - whereas the big boards might need some extra curve to keep them surfy.
I have the 90 Nude twin that the 90 Nuevo is based on - and its a beauty. Form all reports the 90 is very close to the Custom Nudes - so if you arent over 85 kg you may not need to go 100 or 110.

Do you think that a high volume quad would be a better light wind wave machine. I am after light wind dtl wave performance only; if the wind gets up I will change down to my 77L quad.I also wanted a big volume stepup from my 77L as occasionally we "wobble" out to an offshore reef on side-off winds and need the extra float.
I have the 110 as a light wind wave machine. It is awesome. I am 86kgs most mornings after a SS and S.
I have the 110 as well and can confirm Gonew. comment that it is awesome on the wave, particularly in the lighter stuff.
Seems like the twinser is a little easier to initiate a turn than a si ilar sized quad, and the extra volume helps to stop the board stalling so it maintains speed all the way through the bottom turn, v.nice!
As someone else said, they do sail smaller than the volume would indicate, reckon the 110 is perfect for that wobble out type of sailing you get to to do.

Sorry just weighed myself on some real scales and I now up to 88kgs (must be the Christmas pud).
I use 5.3 and 5.7 on the 110L but you could easily get away with something bigger if you wanted to.
I have the Nuevo 110L. I weigh 92kg and use it with 5.7m and 6.2m sails. I ride a 2012 Evo 86L with 5.3m sails and down. The NuEvo 110L is super-relaxed from A to B and lovely on the small waves I've had a chance to use it on so far - turns quick and carries momentum well. Decent at getting back upwind too - grips well for a twin, when you want it to. It's quite "corky" - easy to bounce onto the plane or out of the water. A fun board to ride.
Have you considered a 101 Fanatic Quad? I got one of them and it's a great board. For your weight this would get you out in almost zero wind. You should be able to pick one up that is a couple of seasons old for a good deal.
Throw a Severne S1 5.2 on it and you'll be having more fun light wind wave sailing than you had in years.

a large 100L quad may also fit my needs. I was wondering if a large nuevo may initiate turns slightly easier that a large Quad?
Nuevo 110 is 62cm wide. As noted by others above, it feels smaller underfoot than 110 - the volume is in the thickness. For comparison, Quatro Cube 110 (quad) is 63cm. Goya Quad 104 is 62.2cm and 118 is 66.2cm. I like my Nuevo but I reckon they all look fantastic and are a really good development in extending the appeal and accessibility of wavesailing, which hopefully means windsurfing in general.
