Desperately wanting to get out on the Bay in lighter winds so I can build fitness and confidence.
Looking for an early planing Board and suitable rig to get me going in say 13-17 knots in our choppy Bay.
I am 65kg and in mid-fifties.
ANY SUGGESTIONS ON TYPE OF GEAR - OR DOES ANYBODY WANT TO SELL A BIG KIT THATS NOT USED ANYMORE??

The Bay is a real beast ....
At last we have some chop-eaters available, designed especially for Port Phillip - Martin Love's new board www.atomicwindsurf.com/masterblaster - or the Severne Fox - or my personal favourite the Windtech Silver Bullet, for your needs maybe go the 72 but the 64 would also be fine

On sails, so many great options - probably a 7m, up to 2 cams - for me at 90kg I would be comfortable on 8.6 in those conditions

Hope that helps

Choppy Chump...You can take my Masterblaster 66 for a spin anytime you like and see what you think...may not be big enough for what you are after although at your weight it just might ?. Severne Fox would be a great option as well and Peter loves his Windtechs.

I'd go for a older Starboard Go 145 Or 155 . They are big and friendly , tough and soft deck and handle rough water easy . Quite fast .They are more or less a beefed up slalom board with lots of foot strap options . 6.5 m no cam sail .
I believe the best board board for learners to competent .
