Had a fine hot weekend in Lancelin, sadly no wind. But even if there had been the beach is in an appalling state. From Edwards Is point right through Grace Darling Park and beyond there is thick thick deep stinking weed. You wouldnt be able to launch its that bad. The beach itself is more eroded than I've seen it before, and replaced with mats of weed that you would have to climb/jump down onto and then same to get into the water. Don't think you'd be able to get out again! Get past the jetty and you're back to normal.
I haven't a solution but its gone to waste as a venue. Sad

Nah comes and goes.
I recall years there with 2ft of weed, and about 7 or 8 years ago one season was about 8ft. Literally had to throw your gear in and do a bombie into the water. There will be nicer years again as far as weed goes

The loss of the foreshore there is a terrible shame though when that grass used to house Werner's big setup and 50 windsufers under plenty of shady trees, now its about 1/4 the size.....
