Apollo Bay Big Catch Fishing Competition draws closer
Over the weekend of the 27th and 28th of February Apollo Bay's two day sporting and water festival is held.

The magnitude of the event makes it one to be remembered - the event features: Great Ocean Swim, Dash for Cash, Otway Adventure Race, 4 Kilometre Board & Ski Paddle, Otway mountain bike challenge , The Big Catch fishing competition and 5 and 10 kilometre Beach Run.

From an angling side of things the Big Catch Competition offers a great weekend of fishing and socialising, open to all anglers and includes both fresh and saltwater species and sections for boats, kayaks and land-based fishos!

All fish caught and eligible for entry into the competition will be judged on length and must be handed to judges for measurement alternatively competitors will be provided with an event-authorised measuring device and a competitor ID tag. Photos of fish measured on this device, with a competitor ID tag clearly visible, will confirm the catch.

Great prizes are on offer from Westvic Kayaks and Kampers (Hobie Kayak), Stormy (PFDs), Damiki (lures), P-Line (fishing tackle), Mustad (fishing tackle) and charters courtesy of Queenscliff Fishing Charters.

For all the information on prices, prizes, registration and more visit the Big Catch page on the Go Sports Festival website.
