Vic anglers asked to comment on inland waters classification

Fisheries Victoria is on the hunt for public comments on a draft Inland Waters Classification which defines all inland waters in Victoria as trout, native or mixed fisheries.

The draft Classification maps key fish species, current fisheries management arrangements and it classifies waters based on social and economic values, waterway management and biodiversity criteria.  The draft does not propose changes to angler access, regulations, bag and size limits or closed seasons.

The closing date for written submissions is 9.00 am on 16 August 2010.

You can find copies of the draft at the Department of Primary Industry website or through the DPI Customer Service Centre on 136 186.
