- School is based at the Volunteer Marine Rescue at Shorncliffe (northside of Brisbane, direct train ride from city) with full classroom, changing and shower facilities
- Teaching mainly takes place at Sandgate Beach (5 minutes from school)
- Lessons for individuals, schools as well as the cadets
- Service provider for the Brisbane City Council's Wind & Kitesurfing programs (Chill Out, Get Active, Gold, Gold & Kids and Real Adventure Women)
- Service provider for many online agents such as Red Balloon Days, Lonely Planet GoDo, PRC and FreemanX
- Appointed kiteschool for a number of kiteshops/distributors including Goodtime Surf Store
PAY RATES You get 50% of whatever we charge for the lesson (less taxes & superannuation). For example, for a 2 hour two-to-share lesson we charge $300, your pay is $150 for 2 hours. Similarly, if a 2 hour individual lesson is $200, your pay is $100. We schedule upto 4 sessions a day, and whilst we pay you top dollars, we demand the most professional service.
EQUIPMENT All equipment and uniform are provided to each instructor. We use the latest gear in the market at our school including Airush, Cabrinha, Liquid Force & Starkites. Each instructor is also equipped with a long sleeve rashie, hat, radio, whistle, knife and water at each lesson.
INSURANCE & WORK COVER Public & Products Liabilities of $20m and Work Cover is arranged for all staff and instructors at the school's expense.
INSTRUCTORS CERTIFICATE, BLUE CARDS, FIRST AID & BOAT LICENCE Applicants must have all of the above. If your instructor's certificate, blue card or first aid cert has expired, we can help you to renew them. We are only looking for fully qualified instrcutors.
WORK PERMIT & TFN
You must be allowed to work in Australia and have a valid Tax File Number. Most people do not have to pay any tax in their first $6000 of earnings. Overseas residence may also qualify to claim 100% of their tax back.
STUDENTS SAFETY GEAR Radio helmets, impact vests, harnesses are provided to all students and must be worn at all times during lesson.
SAFETY PROCEDURES A risk management strategy is in place and must be abided by all instructors and students. First-aid station and safety boat is always on standby.
EVALUATION
An evaluation takes place with each student and our 'instructor-in-charge' at the end of each lesson to ensure our teaching standards are kept to the highest level at all times.
FREETIME, BREAKS & OWN EQUIPMENT
We give you good breaks in between each lesson so to allow plenty of riding time for yourself if wished. All instructors have access to purchase gear at cost price too.
