Beware of eating fish from Jervoise Bay
The Cockburn Sound Management Council have just released the report card for Jervoise Bay (the south bay of woodies), and issued a "Don't eat fish caught here.  There are high thermotolerant feacal coliform levels in the water".

Testing showed high levels of tributylin, a broad spectrum biocide found in old-style anti-fouling paint, and excessive levels of phytoplankton and coliform bacteria (indicating feacal contamination)

At a public forum held in Fremantle last Thursday, Professor Longley told the assembled crowd "We're concerned, but not in the sense that the area is dangerous to people.   That is the only spot where we would say seafood is not safe for eating.  However, that area is right next to the boat ramp and we wouldn't be saying anyone should eat seafood caught in that area anyway."
