One for the 'happy angler.'
Its always been a well-known fact that a huge percentage of boats sold will be used at some time for fishing. In fact, some put that number as high as 70 percent!
Melbournes Savage Boats is obviously not intending to miss out on meeting the demands of anglers and its latest release, the all-new 440 Savage Angler, is aimed squarely at that large market segment.
Savage describes its new offering as a deluxe open boat with sharp-edged good looks.
With a 55-litre live bait well, a raised casting platform complete with built-in compartments and excellent pedestal seats, theres no doubting that this rig presents as the ideal platform for fishing estuaries and bays.
Ian Stanley, Savage product manager, admits the company cannot guarantee fish will be caught!
Nevertheless with rod and paddle holders, a lure and tool holder and dry storage space we can offer anglers a more comfortable time trying to land fish, he said.
At 4.4-metres and with a spacious 1.85-metre beam, the rig offers plenty of space on board and with a flat floor covered with marine grade carpeting anglers can be assured of a firm footing.
Designed to perform with a 30hp outboard, the 440 Angler boasts the Savage Tru-V Uni-Weld hull design with a welded extruded centre keel, an extruded deck gunwale and a trolling motor panel with 12/24 volt outlet.
All paintwork has undergone a baked armour-guard process for long life and consumers are offered a choice of five colours sport red, bay blue, copper, onyx black and silver bay.
Positive buoyancy, an electric bilge pump, deck cleats, navigation lights and a trailer round out an excellent package deal.
Marketed as a Savage Just-Add-Water package, the boat with a Mercury or Mariner 30hp two-stroke outboard and a custom trailer is only $14,500 (plus freight), outstanding value for the dollar.
