Can an Aussie win the Sunset Beach (Stand up Paddle) Pro?
Keahi De Aboitiz - Aussie SUP championThere's only two days to go until the third annual Sunset Beach Pro in Hawaii - and we've got a pretty good chance at seeing the trophy brought home to Australia this year.

Sunshine Coast local and all round waterman - Keahi De Aboitiz has just arrived in Hawaii for the next month on a 'business trip'. In other words - he's got a bag full of toys and a big swell on the way... First stop for the young 'business' man is the Sunset Pro Stand up paddling competition at Sunset beach, Oahu.

Renowned for it's huge waves during their winter season - Sunset is the proving grounds of many a pro surfer, although for Stand up paddlers it presents a unique challenge that cannot be experienced in many other places. The sheer size of the waves expected for this competition will put many of the competitors into survival mode, leaving the exceptionally talented and experienced riders to show their skills to the world.

Competing alongside Keahi is world number one, Kai Lenny who is not only a local to the Hawaiian islands, but one of the best surfers you'll find in any conditions, big or small. The pressure isn't going to get to Keahi though, he played it pretty cool on Facebook earlier in the week saying:
"SUP and kite gear packed with a good swell hitting as we speak. Should be a sick trip!"

We wish him all the best at Sunset, and we'll be sure to bring you all the pictures and reports as soon as they roll in from the event. In the meantime you can check out the video below with the thrills, spills and bikini girls from last years event.
