The Doctor will be the first of the series A events on the all new Oceanpaddler World Series (OWS) . It will follow on from the the two other OWS events on the Australian leg of the tour. Both the Fenn Cup and Mandurah Duel will be series C events on the tour and perfect lead ins to The Doctor. With the points requirement for the OWS now only your best 5 results, competing in these 3 events will give you a huge headstart in the world rankings. The ICF have also requested to put their stamp on the event making The Doctor a duel series race. 

Ten times Molokai Paddleboard champ Jamie Mitchell has confirmed he will be starting in the SUP event this year. Mitchell will be up against the likes of Travis Grant and Sam Parker with a strong possablity that current Molokai SUP champ Connor Baxter will also be on the line.

With the support of WAZI the outriggers will be racing for some decent dollars. This will see some of the top single bladed competitors come out of the woodwork for the event. Greg long will start as race favourite but will be up against some of the best in the business.

It promises to be a big weekend of racing with competitors from as far afield as Germany and New York making the journey this year. With so much depth and talent in each of the 3 racing disciplines this year will see the most competitive event of its type in the world.
