Incredibly boring batsman = incredibly boring commentator.
How 'bout that?

Cricket is boring to watch. It's boring to play unless you are batting, bowling or wicket keeping.

James Brayshaw would run a very close second. What dull commentator. Then again he compares the CH9 footy show, but that's where his skill ends in regards to comparing anything outside this gig. He was dulllllll with the 3rd test in WA.

Stay with ABC Radio ( you pay for it after all I presume ).....

K.O.K (alias Skull) and the team beat Ch9 hands down !!

If you need to watch it turn the volume down on the TV and listen to the ABC - that's if it's not delayed by 2 hours....

I actually don't rate Skull. He's funny at first, but after a while you realise he is quite limited intellectually.

Ian Chappell is like listening to someone pulling teeth.
Has no constructive commentry unless it's to do with the 1970 Oz cricket team.
Why was/is he part of the selectors with such a negative outlook.??

And your on this forum for intellectual stimulation because KOK can't provide the brain food? Me too but I try not to stray too far from the one word at a time thread.

I used to think this too - particularly after the 'long' lunch break that he presumably used to indulge in.

But now he is clearly a changed man and demonstrates a much better balance of straight commentary and humour. All up I find him very enjoyable. Glad he wasn't dropped from the side after all those red cards of a couple of years ago.

What are you after intellectual conversation or good commentary with a bit of humour thrown in ??

I'll take the latter any day.....

And by the way, I've been to a couple of local cricket club fundraisers where he has been the guest speaker and he does have a broad knowledge of cricket along with a good ear for cricket gossip that goes well with his sense of humour. Well worth the effort to go along and have an enjoyable night without having to worry about over stimulating your intellect.

Funny combo that you are looking for there really - intellect and cricket commentary.

I look for a bit of light entertainment in cricket - don't always get it though.
