I was wondering if anyone has any reason why I should stay away from purchasing a used 14m 04 Vegas? I know the Rhino 04 had leading edge blowouts but was not sure about the Vegas. Also does it have much range as I am 83k and need it to cover from 16kn to 24kn?
Any complaints from current users or any praise?

I know there are a lot of good new kites but was hoping to stay under the 1000 dollar mark for the complete setup, and this one is right there at the limit.

Hi Noty,
Only read great things about the Vegas but never flown one.
Quite a few comments on Kiteforum regarding exploding Norths but they're mainly Rhinos from memory.
Not sure you'll make 24Knots with this kite and your weight. Maybe 24Knot gusts (say 20 Knot average). In Sydney you got to expect at least +5 knots gusts. If your boards a bit bigger you might get going at around 14 knots.

I bought the exact same kite second-hand a couple of months back on recommendation and absolutely love it. I'm about 70kg and can use it in approx 13-20 knots. Love those 13-18 forecast days now coz I'm never keen to get back on my other (smaller) kite after flying the Vegas! Very stable, great hangtime, and very easy relaunch if you use a 5th line setup. Haven't heard of any leading edge probs, and have smacked mine down a couple of times pretty hard with no drama.
Enjoy!
