But it was open to all and kitesurfers are more likely to look at the sponsors site than fisho's, surfers, windsurfers blah blah. Or more likely to have seen the pic when browsing before the comp started.
You don't see the real unedited pic availabale in a soccer "spot the ball" comp do you?
Nothing to do with whinging, it is a discussion based on principle of the thing. "Retards" is a bit harsh.
BUT Triggerhappy - have you been under a rock?  This discussion was done to death in about 3 threads when the result was announced

Hey, I didn't start the thread (or call people retards).
I am pointing out the comp was very different to previous ones here, or other comps of same format. If that is having a sook, then I guess I am.
If 10 posts out of 8000 makes me a whinger, then I guess I am.
I am deeply sorry for expressing an opinion on a subject.
Congrats to the winner he will have a blast and I am happy for him.

Marketing ruse, there's every chance it was, I mean why would Zephyr bother to sponsor the comp and presumably donate or heavily discount the prizes if it didn't want to generate additional traffic through their website?
Maybe there was a stuff up with the same or similar photo (can't remember which it was) on the Zephyr website but I don't think the same mistake will be made again.
It sounds like a great place to kite, I've got mates going in 6 weeks, can't wait to hear how they go.

Hello....
From recollection, (happy to be corrected??) it was a "COMPETITION"....
Similarly, I purchased a Lotto ticket last week but didn't win in that "COMPETITION" either. I didn't ring Lotteries House to complain about that...I took a chance & didn't win.
I might buy another ticket next week, or I might enter in the next Seabreeze "COMPETITION" next year (or when Zephyr run it again)....
FFS people, wake up. Some lucky guy won the "COMPETITION"....maybe if you try again next time, it might be you....in the mean time, a teaspoon of cement on your cereal.

As someone who has won a kite in one of the seabreeze comps I can vouch for the fact that it's not rigged.
I don't know Laurie, have never met him and I was pretty surprised when I got the call. That was back in 2009 or 2010 if my memory serves me correct and unfortunately I haven't won it again since then so if it is rigged, I need to have a chat to them because it's a poorly rigged as I really wanted another kite and the holiday as well.

Whereas I do know Laurie, and have this "Forums Admin" thingy under my name to the left there, so by rule 3 of the standard terms and conditions I am not eligible to win any of this cool stuff. That's the 'affiliates' part of the rule too, we're not employees and this isn't a paid gig.
So stick that in your pipe and smoke it, whingers.

^^^^ I'm one of those lucky bastards too, and I can tell you it def wasn't rigged if I won it (Lizard Island Trip, increadible trip btw). I'm usually one of those "I never win anything" type of guys, infact every one else around me knew about it before I did. Not until I was on a plane on my way did I believe it!
Keep em coming Laurie. Why don't you do smaller comps and give away small stuff, for the fun of it.
