I don't see the reasoning behind have freestyle and freeride kites mixed in with wave kites... What discipline do you mainly ride?

i find my desire for a kite changes as the wind increases. i'm in a wave location but not a dedicated sb rider. so i like to boost and glide in lighter winds. as the winds and swell increases i like to boost less and ride waves more. so my quiver reflects this. some days i feel more like wave riding other days i feel more like insane air. with this quiver in between 16 and 30 knots i'll have at least 3 different kites i could use given that days persuasion.

Agreed. Different kites work best in certain wind ranges hence I reckon his approach makes sense.

Haha, sounds like you and NoBS should meet on the Hookup thread, he sounds very concerned. Thanks for the updates Plummet, always good. Let us know how the catalyst goes in the waves and is it a 2012? Also, how light can you get out on the flysurfer?

yep 2012 cat. theres good deals going down at the mo with 2012 stuff. low end of the speed? on flat water sub 10 knots maybe 8. in my local location of swell, waves, current. maybe 12-13 knots. but i lack a light wind board. thats next on the list. thruth be told sub 15 if theres any beach at all i ride the landboard. you get a nice powered boosty glidy session 10+ knots on the landboard with the speed!.

Are you thinking make the light wind board or shop around m8? Large TT/mutant or directional? I'm thinking some 5' hybrid surfboard/mutant thing might be a goer.

well i've just made myself a 142x43 mutant which is has better low end than my TT. but i am going to build a barn door TT for real light wind.
