If you're on the Goldy one of the only spots in a straight westerly is the Red Barge. You need to be fairly experienced though as the tide rips through there and lots of boat traffic. Shearwater works well in a sou'wester. Stay Safe

You're probably gonna need a good 15 - 20 for it to be enjoyable at either spot. The good thing about westerly at RB is it's good on both tides except you need to be mindful of ur board on a runout tide :-) Fingers crossed the wind picks up.... Might c u out there

just driving by to have a look, it is a nice spot except for the marine traffic! it's insane. kiting here would be like going for a stroll on M1

For west and south westerlies around Brisbane there is clontarf and woody point, the beaches on the south end of bribie island and Wellington point. Check Google earth ;)

Saw some kites west of the houghton highway bridge (to redcliffe) on sunday in westerlies. Never seen before but it looked ok in theory. Anyone tried?

Very turbulent wind over the trees but worth a look when the tide is out a bit.(a fair bit).

Wello pt - gusty Woody pt - rocky, expect gear and foot damage sooner or later Sandstone pt - awesome flat water sesh last weekend in sw. South tip bribie would be good in pure westerly. We'll worth the drive in my opinion. Goodluck.
