Hi everybody, I am new to kitesurfing, altho i can defend myself ok now.. I am thinking of buying some used gear - got an offer from my kitesurfing school, gear they used this season - 2012 Cabrinha Vector 7.0m, ION harness, and a Brunotti board for 1040 EUR, so some 1200 $ - does it sound like a good deal to you? I looked on the prices of some new Cabrinha packs online and the vector could be found in sale for 1600-1700 $, without harness... Thanks a lot for your advice!

Hey Akwa, thanks for the advice - im only 55 kgs so I guess it could be ok, especially in 16-20 knots. True thought, in 10-15 knots, I won't be able to do much.. I checked the Brunotti boards online, never heard of them before but they look pretty ok - could there be anything wrong with it? Its 130 cm, im 165, not sure about the width, 30cm i guess, and looks in a good state.. Thanks again !

Only go a bigger board size for learning if you can afford to buy a smaller one when up and going. My wife is 65kg and 180cm and hates to ride anything bigger than her Cardboard 128 FR. If you can persist with the right size board you'd be better off. Any chance you can loan a learning board from your local school?

If the kite hasn't been worked over by the students too much it sounds like a good deal. Does it look like the school treat their gear well? Some schools are fastidious about keeping their gear in good condition, and it would be good to buy off a school like that. If the kite has obviously been neglected, then I would think twice. Check if it stays pumped up before you buy it. Check for shell cuts or rips. Look for patches of repair tape and wear and tear.
