Hey,
I'm new to kitesurfing, had my first lesson on Sunday. I bought a 9m kite 2 days ago and want to get out to practice my kite skills. I don't have a harness yet and my mate has one for sale but it doesn't have a safety leash with it. Does the leash normaly come with the harness, the kite or separately? I've looked around online and haven't seen any.
Also can anyone recomend somewere around perth that's not to busy to practice? Is it ok to go to a park or open area if it's windy enough?

Leashes come with new kites. You probably bought yours used? You should not fly the kite without a leash and a harness, you will come unstuck learning to fly it and when you let go of it then its going to be a major hazard to other people. You can be charged for causing public damage.
Go see your local kiteshop and organise a couple of lessons. Flying the kite in a park is not recommended, do it at an uncrowded beach, but after you get a lessons on how to use it safely.

Got my second lesson on Sunday so I'll speak to my instructor about it more and I'll probably go get a harness and leash tomorow. Thanks for the advice
