hey all.

Been jumping for a bit now. Every time i go out i wanna get higher. today i kept my bar in as long as i could because i didn't want to go down. my kite stalled n fell out of the sky.

is holding in the bar the whole time not the best thing to do? maybe it was just a bad jump n i ended up a bit downwind of my kite.

thanks

hey philmb. Whether you're jumping or not, if you bar in for too long and you're fully powered, the kite will "choke" and stall. Make sure you're depowered a bit on the trim strap if you want to bar in fully for any length of time. You may have ended up downwind of your kite because you left it too long before you dived the kite. Also, make sure you lean back heavily and edge hard before leaving the water.

Yeh thought as much.. was fully powered n held in the bar as long as i could. got the edging n timing thing down now.. each time i go out i get more confident and aggressive with the kite wanting to go bigger.

Thinking about it i did have my kite at about 12 to long and didn't dive it.

Thanks.

Could very well be that your front (center) lines are too stretched (too long) and this is encouraging the kite to oversheet when the bar is pulled at the way in. If your kite oversheets when on the beach (kite at 12'oclock and bar pulled it all the way) then that's definitely the main cause of your problem.

I had the same problem, but found that by redirecting the kite even a little keeps the tension in the lines. My theory is that when you get the timing wrong you end up catching up with the kite, or even pendulum underneath and by redirecting the kite it maintains some tension. Check setup that you aren't over sheeting in which would stall the kite and require more sending the kite than redirecting.

Thanks for the help.

its not really a problem, its only happened the once.

was just a bit curious as to why.

Thanks again =)

What size kite is it? Smaller kites require you to fly the kite a bit more on big jumps or they'll drop you out the sky.
