Gear Reviews
We're all here to enjoy and enhance our sport, so the "rules" for posting in the Gear Reviews category are pretty simple:
1. Discuss the review not the reviewer 2. Be honest 3. Refrain from pimping 4. Discuss any brand freely 5. Keep it fun 6. No Advertising/Soliciting, however site sponsors given latitude.
If you have a product announcement, please don't copy & paste the brochure here -- contact us.
About the Gear Reviews
When commiting to new gear for the season, we all would like to get others opinions - an alternative input to the marketing campaigns. We ask mates, shops, and here in forums.
Sometimes discussion here can get heated for reasons such as: * They are seriously in love with their new gear * Maybe had a bad experience with a brand * Might have a vested interest in a brand
We'd like to think that everybody in the Gear Reviews can keep a level head and discuss the Gear technically.
Let's talk about gear!
Take it easy when replying to other people reviews. If you flame them/abuse them/accuse them, then how many people are you putting off posting reviews by your actions?
People are not going to want to post their comments if there are people looking to shoot them down.
We're all keen to post and share our experience, so please keep posts to discussing the gear, not the reviewer.
Pimps!
This category is also notorious for "Pimps". A pimp is someone with a vested interest in gear. Vested means a financial gain for promoting the gear, or maybe they're helping a friend in business, or get free/discounted gear for "spreading the word"
The vast majority of posters are honest folks, ..there may be a minority who may write biased posts to promote sales, or at the worst, post negative or sniper comments about another brand as a way to make their brand look better.
If you thinking about taking up a career here as a pimp, please can you do your apprenticeship somewhere else? Most forum members can spot pimping, so most of the time you'll only be shooting yourself in the foot.
The biggest reward is being honest to yourself. Promote your business & brand through integrity, quality of service and support.
PLEASE do not solicit sales.
Most of all .. ENJOY YOURSELF!
