My local sail maker has told me he will make a custom sail for my mini. Can anyone help me source a plan or layout that I could give him? I was thinking 5.5 m Thanks Brian

you will need to measure your mast bend/length, boom length,and then get him/her to design something with the max depth of the chord about 30%back from the mast. to get 5.5m you will need to add plenty of sail up high, so maybe 6 battens, parallel with the horizontal when sheeted hard. mast pocket size about the size of your windsurfer sails. show him some photos from our landyacht and mini registers, maybe a clemco or hiko shaped sail, they look sweet

This can be very important! I have talked to a few people who took sailmakers who were used to making ocean going sails out to a dry lake bed to sail. Until they sailed a landsailer, they had only a vague idea how radically the apparent wind changed, and how much the masts flexed on these machines. Good luck, and as always; PICS
