I am interested in the new starboard noserider 2012. Wondering about comparable boards in this range 10 feet by 30 inches 166 liters. Also this board is only available in ast candy for 2012 do you think they will extend the construction material in following years. This is a new model for starboard. Thanks all

huh! I thought all starboards were noseriders HA HA HA corky pigdog of things, I agree with what's his name have ago on a JL even a fanatic allwave , laguna bay sups , surf tech,all these boards are better than star blah blah as always just my opinion

so, can anyone report on how the 2012 SB Noserider works and rides? i think scotty100 has one and so do a few other people, from my searches here. please ... weigh in!
Yeah I've had a surf on it for about an hour. I weigh 95kg and ride an 8'6 x 30.75 x 117ltr board. The Starboard to my mind is a big big board. Lots of thickness at the ends. I suppose if you were around 115kg you chuck it around with the standard fins in it ( they are pretty small ) but I could only ride it traditionally. This is a cruiser board and is not a loose board. But it does hang in and does not go for nose dives on sucky waves, it really surprised me on a steep late one over the rock. I thought I was going to visit the lobster pot again, but didn't. It is not a fast board or a board that you can pump up but it did make all the waves I caught. With boards of this size you get to catch a lot of waves, especially all those smaller ones that are a bit fat that everyone misses and then start winding on the inside. You really have to remind yourself to share. Regards Rod
Thanks for weighing in, Rod. I have no short-SUP inclination at all, so I think I'll be fine with the length and volume (166L). Basically, all I care about is that it rides the way it's supposed to, like a longboard SUP, fairly fast down the line, with stepping to the nose in mind. I read that it's got a big concave in the nose; do you think it actually helps w/ noseriding?
