Hi All My new flat water board is nearly finished (photos later) and I need a good starting point for the fin. What size would be good for a 4.8m flat water only board. Because of my sailing background I'm only looking at an upright style fin so if you could limit suggestions to this style. Can you go a lot smaller for just flat water as compared to a DW fin? Thanks

Put you smallest pole dancing fin in. At the speed you go do not think you would notice the difference.

Thanks Hilly Unfortunately at the moment I probably would notice it 'cause it's a 70cm pointer.

Depends a bit on the shape of you and your board, I'm a fan of Larry Allison keel fins for flat water but fair to say lots of folks get on pretty well with a 10" dolphin or hatchet of some description. Here's a selection of my favourites, depending on my mood and the conditions: ( I like fins )
