I decided to dust off the GoPro after a year of it being in a box. This is a vid of a Hawaii Kai Run last weekend. It hasnt been the sunniest week here in Hawaii but the wind has been great. And I haven't kept up on how you "stop a GoPro from fogging"? Back in the box it goes...

Sue, Go Pro have some fog inserts that should do the job. Slide them into the side of the casing and the fogging problem should be fixed. Available from all GoPro stockists.

@NNSUP...thanks for the info. I'll check it out when next in a GoPro stockist. I have a first generation GoPro and use it about once a year but something to stop that fog after an hour of use would be good. @DJ...Love where your mind always goes . This vid was actually filmed over two Hawaii Kai runs a day apart and at different times. I got asked to test out another "GoPro type" camera which I had on my board the first day (sunnier day and 10am) but the footage is no good as the camera doesn't have the wide angle that GoPro does so it is all from my crutch to my toes !! I didn't use any of it and conclude that that camera is no good on SUP boards. It was in the same position on my 14' as the GoPro. The next day (cloudier and earlier) I used my GoPro and got all the second half of my vid where the footage is clearer (no fog) but the weather is gloomier which justed added to my "Ebony" role. I look better as a silhouette though. And DJ...You gotta stop eating ice-cream while you're paddling too. You'll always get a brain ache doing that ! @Blane...haha Aloha! Can't believe I haven't seen you yet here on land but run into you here online!. We gotta get out more ! Have a great day.

Hi Sue, the trick I find works best is to use the moisture pad thingies but leave the housing of the GoPro open in the car on the way to the beach and put the air conditioning on full blast recycle, that dries the air out. Then shut the GoPro housing before you open the car door. Hey what happened, Michelle isn't going left all the time You look super fit by the way

@Jonathan...thanks for the info on the GoPro. Funny cause on both days we waited about half an hour into the paddle till we turned it on and then it started to fog at the 20-25min mark. Almost like the camera heats up a little while it's working? Haha about Ivory...she did go left slightly at the end still but soon worked out she had to come in or face a 25kt head wind alone! Good memory by you though. Funny. @Pete...yes it's a super fun run and it's pretty much good most days. You'd love it ! @Boylos...na the GoPro's back in the box now but it was fun to bust it out for a few days. Got a 7mile race this weekend on the North Shore. Sunset to Haleiwa. Then heading to Maui in July for Mailko race which unfortunately is the same weekend as the Napali 17 mile race on Kauai which I'd love to do. There are great races most weekends. Lots of variety too. See you at Haleiwa Joes this September maybe? You coming back?

Hope it's not in the box for to long! Sounds good your in SUP Heaven!....... had every plan to do the Haleiwa Joe race ( stay in the middle when you go to the line ,also about half way your start to get some runners )and the Hawaii Kai run at the dukes fest ..... but it clashes with my daughters semi finals of the netball in the A's and then hopefully the final . If all goes well arriving 2nd Sept til the 14 Sept ..... any races on then? Boylos

You miss some races by a day! Haleiwa Joes is on 2nd Sept from Waimea to Haleiwa. Guess you could come straight from the airport to the North Shore !! Has been done before. Hans Hedemann has also started a Summer Sprint Race Series and has a race on the North Shore on Sept 1st. http://northshorestanduppaddleseries.com/ Other than that there is a break from racing till Mid Oct but races always pop up last minute. I'll keep you informed if I hear of any updates or new races in the time you're here. Good luck with the netball finals

Forgot the Independance Day Race on North Shore next week on 4th July. Sunset to Waimea and then Cline Mann Memorial Race next weekend 7th July which is a Hawaii Kai Run to Outriger Canoe Club. Too many races to remember them all.
