This Thursday at Kawana Lake at 4:30pm. Bring any board. All Welcome and all free. For those not wanting to do the full BOP distance you can do the half BOP. Come and try to beat your own PB. Cheers Swanie

Sorry to hear about the injury Trev Do you think it may be from that very bent over conor baxter style paddle techneque? Ive been having some lower back troubles too and it seems to always be from after ive been paddling hard in that same style. Im trying to paddle more up right but I just dont seem as fast. Luke

No worries mate. Look after yourself. Not sure how I'll go today as I have just got back from a wine and cheese family luncheon do in Maleny. Wonder if Gorgonzola and a couple of glasses of Port has the same benefit as Endura or GU.

I think all of the bending is part of the problem, but I think its also from a bit of overpaddling. I also found that complete upright technique doesnt get the power through for me. The lower back can be sorted by lying on a cricketball. thanks Luke, Trev

Tough conditions in 23km / h winds SSE Small Group tonight and really cold. Some stuck at work and others injured but still a few were staying warm and out of the wind. Might have to dish out some cement powder on the coast . Here are the times from tonight. Thanks to PT and my wife for sitting down there timing the group. The new system seems a winner. Race Splitter App. Highly recommend for other groups running similar events. $37 app but makes life easier for the volunteers (happy wife...) Here are the times: Full BOP Half BOP See you all next week. Also big news coming about club sponsors for the 2012/2013 season. Good things happening on the Sunshine Coast.

Hey trev As I relearn every race I do, and again tonight on the last lap of the lake by Jonsey, paddling strong and paddling smart work hand in hand. As Woogie explained at the last club day, incorrect technique can lead to injury, as you have just experienced. Yes you do gain more power from breaking at the hip, but it is not a technique that can be maintained for extended timeframes without burning out or injury. Overtraining and incorrect training are also important aspects that you might want to look into. Your paddling exceptionally well at the moment, but if you want to take it to the next level, you'll need to apply some of the regimes that the top paddlers are using. Queensland has some of the best paddlers in the world, they definitely have some good advice and luckily for guys like us, their willing to share. See you on the water Cheers ryan

Oops. Blame the new bottle of Port from Malany . All fixed above now. Too funny.. I had myself on a Starboard as well in the post. Don't mind the colour though.
