It's looking good for those keen downwinder's that live near Melbourne. Our plan is to meet at Sandy at 10am and maybe leave from Sandridge (Port Melb) maybe even Altona depending on how much west is in the wind. DJ Sunday 5 August North to northwesterly 15 to 25 knots turning westerly 20 to 30 knots in the morning.

The solid 25 knot north wind dropped just as we hit the water (about 10:30) .. We got a few gusts along the way.. Then when we got to Green Point the wind turned NW and dropped in temp.. A few of us pulled out at Green Point but most made it back to Sandy without a problem.. Not a great DW run and I take the blame because I had my GoPro running.. .. Still it was a good day on the water with blue sky and sunshine.. DJ

I can't recall the laws for how far you can have something on the roof of your car hanging out the back....but the Naish on the little Suzie can't be legal. Get yourself a red flag or something to hang on the tail of it DJ.

I was lucky enough to finish my Pt Ormond - Ricketts run by 10.30. Did a "No Mates" thanks to the Sun morn wife shuttle. Sunny, warm and perfect direction. A rare 2012 winter run. Looks like bop conditions all week
