Starboard "Touring". That's what it was made for. http://www.star-board-sup.com/2012/product/?q=touring-12-6-30 ( edit: the little red man is on the front )

Will you be cruising freshwater or saltwater lakes as you will have to adjust your board volume to suit. Go for something nanotuned as it will make your cruiser way more reactive especially in fresh water

Yes definetly mate saltwater is way more bouyant you can reduce your volume by having your shaper build heaps of stubby or can holders into the deck

Makaha, You should consider the SIC X-14 for Flat Water and a little chop, and longer distances. SIC Bullet 14 would be perfect for DW and some surf sliding on knee high runners. Bullet 14 is becoming available in the cheaper Production Category, and also available as a Maui Custom. If 12'6 suits you better for storage. You can't possibly pass up the SIC X-12('6). Production versions of these are starting to become available too. Best of all, if you bought SIC X-12 (for example), then Lacey would love to be seen paddling with you. Instant paddle buddy! Win-Win. Simondo.

+1 for the starboard touring, a real solid board, looks nice in the wood construction too IMO. Unless you want flatwater racing then thats a whole other can of worms. Although the touring would be able to hold its own.

Hit the 1 minute mark or watch it from start as it's a classic scene.
