That's awesome to hear. Hey Scotty, will get to meet you in the flesh finally. This is gonna be a smokin aussies, especially now with the racing component

Damn, that looks like a pretty decent, competitive team. I've been telling everyone that there's no chance of catching the Queenslanders and NSW guys, and hopefully the WAliens will get lost on the way. But surely we can beat the Croweaters. Maybe not. Next target - the Taswegians.

Good stuff , look forward to catching up. I think I met some of you blokes a couple of years ago at Merimbula.

Glad you made it into the surfing Scotty Mac.

Yer its going to be good times, that's for sure, can't wait to see Casso and the east coast boys rip it up.(Hope you pull the "reverse Casso"!)
Great opportunuity for states like SA to see where its at, no doubt the standard will be really high, we are a bit isolated in SA but still bloody keen!
Hey Goaty, mite need to chew your ear about the Maldives, heading there a week after Pt Maq.........sweet life!
And to all the queenslanders, no comments about our lolly white legs please!
We have been covered up in rubber for 5 months now and its still frikken freezing down here!

the over 40's Surfing looks a bit light on for numbers, why? maybe some of the blokes from Vicco up at Port Mack Nationals can be wild card entries :-))

Yeah, that's all the allocations they gave out this year - just two heats for the inaugural running of this division. I know there are a few guys who would like to be surfing in this division but missed out (by 0.3 of a point).
Maybe next year they will make the over 40s will be bigger.

The over 40's should have the most allocated numbers. Seems to be alot more people of the age doing sup...be interesting to see how many of the open surfers are 40 years of age or over.

QLD Womens Racing Team

Angela Jackson
Karla Gillbert
Sondra Pursar
Alison Fullagar

Alison Fullagar
Angela Jackson

Molly Walker
Surfing Team
Shakira
Jenny Ryan
Can someone please let me know who i can call or contact in regards to getting Molly Walker a Tech Wild Card?
It seems stupid that she can finish 2nd at the NSW state titles and had a bad race in the QLD titles and miss out on the Tech race all together. Especially since she could claim being a NSW person but is doing the right thing by not.

I second that, seems stupid if she doesn't get to race when some of the other states don't seem to have enough girls to fill their spots. Try ringing Surfing Qld and if they can't help, contact surfing NSW as they are the host state.

Try Jake White at Surfing Aus, 0422987069 or 0755993800 he's been very helpful.

Here's the breakdown from the male members of the Sydney Paddle Surfing Club:
<18 : 9%
18-39 : 36%
40-49 : 39%
50-59 : 13%
>60 : 4%
That's 55% that are over 40. Therefore the Over 40s division should theoretically be just as big, if not bigger, than the Open.

There's only one woman racing from Vicco so there's an allocated spot in both races handed back to Surfing Australia as wild cards.

Last I heard, Will Cousins (Vicco) wasn't coming - his place was going to be taken by Chris Clarke, but I could be wrong.
