the board will be finish this week. more pics then. already has the bottom glassed. i'm doing a rudder system, if i go in a 14 class race i will take the steering off and temp glue the rudder.this board has had a lot of r&d with the one on show at the supsa day being stupidly quick. travis reckons it's the fastest board he has been on- full stop. what we did for me was pull a bit more shape out behind centre, widen up the tail from 4' to 6" and over all width from 26' to 26.5" just to make it more user friendly. this is going to be the dc 14 class board model with only width changes for custom orders. in other words- this is it. can't wait

actually, it has the same as the 17, but will be more because of the shorter lenght. i think the dihedral nose deck makes it look flatter. anyway, nose diving hasn't been a problem on any of the runs we've done and this board with dihedral and the volume up there, i can't see it happening cheers ps dj, when we get in the water, i'll get some shots. i think you will find there will be enough nose out of the water

the deck got glassed today it has a reinforcing membrane on the deck as well as that black stuff. there is a fair bit that goes into all these big boards and lots of labour. as this is my first dw board made for me, i'm just about wetting myself for the first test paddle on friday afternoon hopefully cheers ps the tint is for the sander, not the finish

lobes, i get to see a lot ofthese boards made, seeing as this one was for me, i aked if i can photo the building process. missed the steering setup part. tomorrow is it's first sand off and then a filler coat. that when the real sanding, spraying, sanding, filling, sanding, until it's right. this stage is the hard part of the work and the guys that do it i take my hat off to. it's one thing to feel a bump or hollow, it's another thing to fix it up phil, if you made this board with a pin tail with the lead in rail that would follow on this board, you would never stay on it- trust me on that

hi phil, the boards leave a beautiful v shape small roll/ripple off the back- no water broken. there is a lot more to the bottom of the board then you can see on the photos.

If this DC14 goes anything like the previous one that we took out last week it will be an absolute gem! A few modifications were made to Lacey's board as part of the R&D that we have all put into these boards. I can't wait to see it in the water to see how she goes. It should be a ripper.

Hey Phill, nice to see you guys doing some extensive R&D down there. Have you been analysing the pin vs square feature in flat water or out in the runs? Most of our research up here gets done in the runs and I am still not decided on this yet. My DC16 has a pin tail and I personally do not have any problems with it at all. The front section of the board is more critical than the back half in order to chase runs properly imo. This new DC14 has a really good front half and this is why is it so good in the runs. It catches anything and links runs beautifully.
