early March 2013 im looking at taking a 3 or 4 day paddle adventure down a river anywhere in asia or india/ sri lanka. i have no idea where to start looking to research this anyone had experience or know any links that might help? high on my list would be either laos,Thailand,Cambodia or sri lanka/india open to other suggestions though. I dont have any white water experience but not against small white water conditions occasionally. More looking to just cruise down a river with a couple of tentative stop overs but more stop where ever takes my fancy. no idead how far i would be able to paddle each day going to start training and decide closer to the date. i have a naish mana isup and would plan on carrying only one other bag so getting around out of the water should be no issue.

North side of the Himalayas would also be insane! Tibet, and China.

Northern Laos...the quiet Nam Ou river which goes past stunning limestone karsts and then joins the Mekong and onto Luang Prabang. That'd be my pick. I ran adventure tours through there and Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia and China for 11 years. March is well into the dry season and so the Mekong gets fairly low with low grade rapids in sections North of there. An inflatable would be the ticket because in March it will be pretty hot and the less lugging of anything you have to do the happier you will be. ie Getting it on songthaews (utes with canopies and two parallel bench seats in the back) to get to your start point. Plenty of villages along the river bank to stop and stay in which would be great for you as the people would be most interested in you and your mode of transport.
