? I think so - would be a great complement for the days when you don't quite want to battle a 9' board but dont' want to ride a shortie

Like these? I like the concept, nice low rails, flat with a bit of length. Nice for small clean waves I would think

Yea they do and yes, the black one has a wicked cloth inlay. If you enlarge that pick you see 100s of cherries. It looks mental in the flesh only on overcast days tho as the black will melt your wax job

The retro logs and hulls are nice looking boards but have their limitations. Many people get them but find out that they take a fair bit of getting used to and are unforgiving in many cases. When I got my log I rode it a fair bit when it got smaller and enjoyed it a lot but now I tend to drag out the 10 foot single fin when it gets smaller. Its got edgier rails and a modern planshape and its a lot more versatile. The log tends to live in the garage a lot lately. You can see the difference between the two.

More interesting is the difference in fin position and shape. At the end of the day a log is an old design that never going to be anything other than old

That is true Doggie. The log noserides and trims nicely but you really need to change the way you surf to ride these boards and you really cant ride it in anything over head high. You can get get a few boards in one by going for different fin set ups like this one. I havent tried this yet as a single fin but reckon it would be a different feel with a big single fin in it.

There is this one guy who rides a brown log with true style up here on the southern points, man he has class,up on the nose massive turns from the back,I saw him on a old short single fin on Saturday and geez, talk about speed down the line.I am sure any of the guys who surf there know who I am referring too, drives a sub and parks on top of the hill most days. On cars,Boofy is your transporter a gold colour? PS, if I was around 80 kgs I'd have a board like Crazy's new onebut thats NEVER going to happen.

^Probox? lok a bit different to mine but far too similar Mac that hulls 6'10"x23"x3(and a bit)" - made for a 100-110kg, an 80kg man would think he's on a tanker, heaven have mercy if he ever tried to duck dive it there should be some foam in it. SMH - I hear what your saying about the soft rails, I have 2 LB's one with really soft 50/50 rails till 6" from the tail and one with a harder rail 60/40 no points for guessing which one I ride more. I also snapped the soft railed board I'm hoping it's my order - be a small world if someone got the same dims & colors, from the same shop, in the same time frame.

Doggie n Crazy the fin system is called Surfinz and the fins can be moved nearly 1/2 inch within the boxes. A guy called Greg Trotter who owns Soar bought it out last year I think. Grant Miller made the board and he's been putting them in boards on request although he recommends them. They cost a bit more than FCS though. I've got a 7.5 inch fin that I'll try on it as a single and a couple of little side biters that I'll add down the track. Its so much fun to ride as a quad though and it feels a lot looser than a thruster set up. Here is another shot of it. So far its been the loosest midlength I've had. 7'6 x 22

It's here, picked it up, put the fins in it, waxed it, then the surf got scared - not sure if I'll get out on in it in the morning. First impressions - Totally sick to the power of rad

yeah - seems to really like having me forward on it, there's a ton of foam in the middle and front of the board (yes that picture says 3 1/4"), likes it if you move around a bit too (even clunky old me), think I might slide the fin back a tiny bit it's pretty much centred at the moment.
