Aussiex, Only today I saw a second hand Chinook RDM extension at Surf FX on the Goldy, It wasn't very expensive. They had a couple of others there as well, I'm sure if you drop by and see them they will be able to hook you up with something that will last and not cost anywhere near the $140 you have... You might have enough left over to buy some boom grip and have a go at re-griping that Chinook boom you have.
