Just got a new board ( first board )
but the EVA deck is looking a bit ****
it was a old school board and look like it has been use to as a SUP

been told buy the good bloke at "surf and snow" that it can sand it back on the rail and repainted
which i think would look better

has any one done any thing like this ?
any tips or youtube link would be great

looking at sanding it to the rail line as there already a nice line around it ( finger is pointing to it )

I know it looks scruffy, but as a learner/intermediate the soft deck will save you from a lot of scrapes and bruises. You'd have to regrip it if you took the EVA off, and DIY regrip can be quite rough.

eva is usually heavily glued down, I wouldn't worry about the water getting in between.

Just enjoy the board until you outgrow it....

As everyone else has said don't worry too much about cosmetics. if the board itself has a crack seal that up with epoxy resign or neadit.

the EVA will be a pain to get off, i recently regripped a boom mega frustrating

time better spent sailing.

Knead it (proper spelling) is two part epoxy that comes in a tube, its a bit like playdough, you mix it with your fingers and apply. sets in minutes. off you go...

most hardware and i think WSS sell it.

the board should be made of epoxy i would think? you can justbget araldite and put it over the crack. if the crack is quite large yo may want to use some glass cloth and epoxy resin.

Epoxy resin - Not Polyester resin that you use on surfboards (dissolves the foam)
I learnt the hard way and now my board's in the shop getting repaired by someone with more of a brain than me
