As all of you are probably aware there is a southerly change due Sunday just around start time so we are going to look at following options and call it as late as possible , so check your emails over the weekend
1. The southerly is late so we start earlier than normal to get the most of the northerly say around midday (race at Wynnum)
2. The southerly is earlier so we start usual time (race at manly)
3. Comes in at 2 and we are stuffed
So please check email and seabreeze and your email for updates

Forecast hard to call
Race committee has made the call to race from manly at 2.oo pm. If by chance the wind is still from north we will relocate to Wynnum .
A strong wind warning has been issued so throw in your bump and jump gear in case we decide that it is not suitable to race.
See you there
I predict the change to come through at about 3pm. This should make things very interesting(exiting).....
Hi Lee, no drama with the markets, to far from where we sail on the point. If the wind is on, should be a ripper Arvo! Looks like today was perfect.
Very unpredictable these southerly changes. Now looks like arriving around 5 oclockish.???? Re marine weather services.
Hi all
We are going to race from Wynnum today we want to start by 1pm so get down early
Regards simon
Thanks Bayside for another great day on the water. Pity about the start boat but them's the breaks. Good on you Mike for having the canastas to get the course set, reminded me of the days when we used to use the little WQ tinnie.
Great sausages from the big grub also. Cheers Jenzy.
Looks nice and flat for a little way. Can you sail the other side of the wall in a southerly or is it too shallow?
Simon,
I was just trying to remember where you had mentioned getting some long board racing going..
I think in a Bayside email you said something about looking to start this on Saturday afternoons in October. Did you get any interest...? I am keen to join in if this gets going.
cheers,
Alec.
took some photos when i stopped for a bit of a rest. someone tell me if they have figured out how to stop seabreeze from squishing the photo sizes down to tiny....
pre-race warmup, super casual gybe
final tuning
race 1 start!
wind was a bit light at right on the beach
bart bringing up the rear and checking for stragglers
winner race 1?
tight race for 2nd to 5th
6th and 7th ??
race 2, bart giving everyone a headstart lol
simon, got a pretty good start race 2
traffic jam at the bottom mark
and yeah i only had a 1gb card, the 16 was in the gopro so ran outta space
Great shots Swoosh, love the traffic jam around the mark, really captures the confusion at jibe time.
Ben,
the fact that you have photographic evidence that I started last in every race only makes it more painful. I had almost wiped it from my memory.
I think I was daydreaming.
Great shots!! you are in the wrong proffession!
bart, i thought you were just being generous and volunteering as safety officer to keep an eye on everyone, due to the start boat being broken.
was fun to watch the race, might have come keep you company at the back of the pack next time round instead of just trash talking from shore, shorter legs and more gybes would be good thou please.
My legs are short enough
In Bart's defence it was windy, maybe he was drafting and waiting for the most opportune moment to strike.
