Chinook do carbon and alloy in that length. I use a 40cm extension with an 8.8 GPS race sail on RDM (HOT sails), they are plenty strong enough even though lots of people wont use RDM with long extension.

If your going to use an extension that long, it needs to be carbon period. I have seen far too many alu rdm extensions getting bent when extended further than about 25cm! I think Chinook actually don't make an alu extension longer than 27cm for just that reason, and it seems severne most likely don't for the same reason.

Anything above 22 cm is a risk, also carbon. I have broken 2 rdm carbon extenders who were set at 20 cm. If i were you i would buy the Severne wave granade carbon 35 cm and a 5-Oceans carbon rdm masttop extender (15 cm), or better an extra mast... Grtz, Martin

I use the long Naish carbon rdm ext. These work well and are tough. https://surffx.com.au/products-page/base-and-extensions/naish-rdm-carbon-extension-30/ Cheers

Why do you need such a long extension for those sized sails? I run the same range and haven't found anything over 30cm necessary

most skinny extensions come in two sizes 30 or 45 , just ask your local shop. price only varies 10-15 $ between the two.
