you could of saved me a car park I think I counted about 50 cars, that belonged to all the windsurfers in the car park, and even up the road..amazen.. think that's the most I have ever seen at rye. Well done fellas have a beer and celebrate! windsurfing is back! 50 windsurfers and two kiters, this is only just the beginning fellas of a windsurf boom.. And it's still winter, what's it going to be like when spring hits?? Did any one get any photos of today?? I wanted to take a pic of the car park, but I did not get time to get me camera out..

It would of been better, I think, if we got a little more west in the wind, for us wave junkies. But I noticed the speed junkies had a ball, flying on the Rye speed strip, in the on shore conditions. I had a go at jumping the waves, but it was dam hard work in the on shore chop. I am really tired after today.

Any way tomorrow should be alot easier to sail, cause the wind is meant to turn NW wich is more side shore, so green point or rye will be the go again..hang ten fellas

What speed did ya get spotty?? Hey spotty post some go pro pics on here or video footage

Great to see so many people out (even if I did end up parking nearly in Portsea!) Thats what happens when you have no wind at weekends for months! Lets hope tomorrow has 20+ knots as well.

Good day so many people there compared to the five we normally get. Bit of variety from just powered on 5.3 to overpowered on 4.2 then really nice flat water and powered on my 4.2 the speed guys would have been spewing they left early.
Still got my regular carpark up front too

Yep excellent day. I was lucky to squeeze in a carpark near the front too. Someone counted 35 windsurfers in the water at one time with still more on the beach. Agree with Zacd: the wind came back up an hour or so before sunset with some really photo worthy conditions, with only about 6 sailors left in the water, shame noone was taking any shots.

Yep, great to see so many out. Amazing for a cold mid winter day! By the time the good wind came in mid afternoon I was having batten troubles and on weighing up whether to change down sail sizes or pack up - cold and fatigue won the day! Needed a can of HTFU.

Oh and as for speed,

I hit my PB of 22.86 knots

Second time out on a 122 ltr starboard go (down from the 175 ltr)

The clouds in those top two pics look great! Not sure what's happening with the last few pics though, the bottom half of the shots seem to be missing.

Nice work on the speed!
