Has anyone ever tried one of these? Looks amazing in skateboarding and thought it could be possible. People are going on about how boardoffs are now uncool, but this could be the next step.

The theory:- Before jumping make sure your feet are faily loose in your straps. Boost high enough to have some time up your sleeve. At the apex of the jump, with knees really bent, remove your feet from the straps (keep both hands on the bar - this is a feet trick!) and bring your back foot quickly to the middle of the board at the heelside edge. Now with your toes kick the board down forcing it to spin on it's nose-tail axis. After a complete revolution you need to have your feet perfectly set to catch the board by re-inserting your feet. If you only get say the front foot to go back in don't panic as your back hand can grab the tail to assist. It's important for the knees to start out bent because when you take your feet out the board will want to fall, so as you kick and catch, your knees will be straightening to stay with the board.
I've done this in my head, but plan to give it a go. Anyone who's ever kick flipped a skateboard will be miles ahead already.

Is it possible? Say said a superman in windsurfing was impossible.

I've seen skaters do a huge kickflip off a half pipe, but instead of just landing on the board after it's flipped, they grab it with their hand and hold it onto their feet. This might be a slightly easier version of the trick you want to do! Plus I wouldn't want to *place* my feet on the board still 2 metres up and hope to make the landing.

The other option could be to ride around unstrapped, ollie the board and give it a kickflip and ride away just like a skater. Less height, less punishing.

I hope you go kiting today so I can hear how it went.

Yeh, maybe a low floaty overpowered jump no more then a metre above the water would be a good place to start. Proly be down at Melville again this arvo.

Sounds good but a "casper" anything is usually a move that requires at least 5-10 years of skateboarding experience. The move usually start with a kickflip, heelflip or hardflip and the landing is when your skateboard is upside down with trucks and wheels in the air. You need a considerable amount of speed as the grip of the skateboard normally stop you from beginning your slide.
This trick has been performed on bindless wakeboards and it looks sick. I think a fella in the Ten 4 dvd executed one on a skimboard, I might have to watch it again carefully. So definately possible especially off a half a foot wave to give you the initial pop. But beware Reverting it to the correct side of the board will require more clever approach. Good luck dude, Im still stuck with the uncool board offs still
