The coverted Perpetual TassieSUP International Winter Classic trophies
have been reluctantly surrendered by their inorgural winners.

They will, of course, be presented to this years' new champions.

These trophies have been undergoing maintainance and improvements and
our jewler is particularly proud of the additions, which are illustrated above.

As you can plainly see, these beautiful trophies are now self illuminating,
having had lighting aznipods tastefully fitted.

looks like the northern sups are all talk, not 1 entry from the north as yet, but plenty of southerners, TassieSUP chose Scamander to make it easier for the northern riders to attend, could of been a mistake by us because some southerners can't make it because its at Scamander.

Just to clarify for interested parties - This is not a beer swilling weekend for south coast sup bogans - it is a fun, social competition weekend for the whole family SERIOUSLY.

Just in case anyone is thinking about playing up "the barnyard vet" will be testing all entrants for substance abuse prior to the start of the comp' and trust me 'you do not want this man taking your temperature' ?

A good thing about RR's training session on Monday was he explained, and put to practice the art of tea sipping, scone baking and bible ear bashing. A skill he said us Southerners would need, to know what its like to be a NW'er. He said it was the only way to full understand how these NW"ers really surf.

Does this vet also do prostate examinations. Maybe each competitor can get a free examination to encourage entries?

Another great day for a surf at Scamander this morning.
Don't forget to get you entry in by 5pm today if you want to qualify for the early bird entry special limited "TassieSUP Winter Classic" stubbie holder (northern sup riders can use theirs as a tea cosy)

Just to clarify regarding prizes/trophies:

All division winners will receive prizes, with trophies being awarded to the highest ranked Tasmanian competitors in each division.

There will, as mentioned earlier be stacks of prizes being dished out over the weekend as random names are drawn out of the competitor pool.

Billboard has also indicated that he will be supplying (on behalf of Josef Chromy wines) bottles of Tasmanias finest wines to the top 3 place getters in the sunday surf race (remember, boards 10' and under only)


AND finally - the Penguin Sup'ers will be gathering for a surf next Sunday, the 26th May. Everyone welcome - there will the everything from beginners to the states best sup rider there, so please get along and have a bit of fun and pick up some tips from the boys and girls there.

OH - should add - if you are thinking about heading to Penguin next weekend, the Penquin markets are on, so take the missus and kids with you. Will be a big breaky in town for all attendees afterwards.

Make sure you have a second, more conservative board.
Because you know what happens at comps .. the waves
are good up until your heat .. then it drops off and goes
onshore. So you will then need to forsake that sleek pro-custom
job and bring on the bloated canetoad .. it will serve you well.
And you'll need to re-bond with this unit, over many slushy
sessions, between now and JUN 22.
