Used to have them as a kid. Not to everyone's pallet.

Last time I had them was several years ago at the Twin Towns RSL. I think they were on a pensioner menu. Hardly ever see them on any restaurant menu's.

Does anyone know where I can get this delicious dish served to me in Melbourne CBD?

I'd prefer them on toast and willing to pay up to $15

It's not that hard! cook it yourself.

Egg wash and crumb the brains, shallow fry in a mixture of veg oil and butter.

It's not popular so you'll likely only find it in the classic "old" restaurants, maybe The Waiters?

Lambs brains and bacon with gravy are beautiful. Try a Maco or Serb restaurant, there is a great place here that has old school Maco food and they serve it.

Waiters Club is probably as close as I could get to getting some crumbed brains down this neck of the woods. Melbourne is so posh. Yep, probably will have to make it myself.

On a similar vein. I'm into slow cooking. I've built myself a fire pit with a rack where I slow cook big hunks of meat on the latent heat for several hours, the meat sits well above the fire, about where you can stick your hand for thirty seconds. Every half hour I turn it and baste it. I built it after I saw similar contraptions in the U.S. The taste of the meat that comes out of my texan bbq is absolutely incredible. It just falls off the bone and the flavour is like nothing else. Seems to work really well with cheap cuts of meat - pork belly, ribs etc.

One of my next challenges for my bbq, is to get a whole suckling pig, maybe about 10 - 15kg build a spit to contain it, so the legs and other bits don't fall off during the process, and then cook it with an apple in it's mouth over my fire pit for 4 - 6 hours.

I'm thinking maybe an Asian butcher may sell me one of these little beasts, possibly in Springvale or Richmond. Anyone done this before?

Oh yeah, forgot to say, just because somethings not on the menu doesn't mean it can't be done.

BUT FOR $15 YOU"RE DREAMING, what do you want a set of jousting sticks with that?

As for slow cooking, the best thing you can do is the sear the meat on a flat grill 1st then put it in a proving oven overnight. Works for Hogsbreath!

I think it was on the menu at Twin Towns RSL for under $10 - probably still is.

Sorry put in an edit re slow cooking as you posted while I was typing. Yeah it was cheap at the Twin Towns but in the rest of the world? It's like when I do roadtrips I always check the wines at the bottle'o's when I overnight, you can find some gem's that have been cellared for free, but it doesn't mean that because I found a Grange in Wilcannia for $40 I can get it in Sydeny for the same price. Bit like the best Hot and Sour soup I ever had was at Cooper Pedy for $5. Good luck. My Mum used to chase us round the house to make us eat brains. Bit creamy for my taste.

It may be easier to just order a lechon perhaps? My Filipino colleagues order one practically every weekend, in fact they are eating one right now. Comes pre-roasted to perfection, and I believe the price is pretty good. But for the ultimate barbeque - try making asado - whole cow, upright, crucified, cooked on bonfire, a few metres away:

I live in the wrong country. If I was to turn my backyard into that, Glen Eira council would have a fit.

I don't even think I am legally allowed to have an open fired bbq in my back yard. I think the only reason I get away with it is cause Zina, behind us, does the same thing.

Was just reading up on lechon, never heard of it before. Apparently it's one of Anthony Bourdain's favourites. That's exactly what I'd love to get for a celebration I'm planning.

Oh here we go: Order from Apolo's Lechon (03) 9357 1141

Choice as bro. Crumbed sheep brains would make a nice meal while we wait for the Hangi on your 50th.

23rd September 2014 ain't far away, how are the plans going? What are we drinking on your special day?

Are you inviting the big seabreeze posters to your 50th? 62 Mac, Pup, DJ, Mark, PR (There's a spare seat now cause Doggie's been axed)? What about the Admins?

Probably best to put them all on the same table because they'll have to be catered for in a different way to the rest.

You are well ahead of me there. But I guess I have to start thinking about venues, seating arangements and invites. A hungi or an asado would be the ultimate and tie in well with my theme, but it's impractical in my backyard.

However, I think you are right in thinking that I should set out a special seabreeze table. The seabreeze table can have the same access to Limoncello, Lechon and Sheep Brains as everyone else.

Obviously, admins and muppet spelling police will not be invited, except for maybe Galah. I think it would make other S'breezers very uncomfortable with admins swanning around, waiting for any opportunity to exert their unnatural authority.

I was going to theme the party as a zombie party, I reckon that would be fun. But I'm not sure how I could tie it all together, may have to give this aspect a bit more thought.

The good news is that food and drink menu is almost set.

You gotta invite the important seabreeze guys. BTW That's Laurie at the front. Galah's there somewhere.

I was thinking you'll need to seat them at a table (a round one) full of computers, phones (with special leather cases) and pads with a direct connection to seabreeze (what did you think they were gonna do?).

Definitely go with the Hangi though. Don't change your mind on that too! Zina's cool with it.

Just send Fly around to one of your neighbours and Petermac to the other. Get them talking to your neighbours about 911, fluoride or Chemtrails and that will go all night.

They will be surrounded by circular reasoning and your neighbours won't have any time to call up the Ranger. Too easy my friend...

I'm not that keen on inviting S'breeze admins or any other members of the illuminate to attend and eat my crumbed sheep brains and drink Limoncello.

They just mess things up. I want to let regular top posting breezers feel free to express themselves to my neighbors in an illogical, circular reasoning fashion without the usual constraints - as long as they are prepared to dress up and have fun in my zombie themed meat eating party.

F%$k yeah. There will be people everywhere, your neighbourhood will hate you. It's gonna be a night to remember alright!!!

Just so you know beforehand, I'm not talking to Tracy Grimshaw afterwards.

Man, you gotta visit some of the other forums occasionally.

Longboard forums were in crisis a few weeks ago. Two worlds collided, then PR and the doctor arrived and strirred up the hornets nest a bit more.

I suspect half the longboarders time on seabreeze is spent messaging each other because I couldn't entirely make out what was going on by reading the forums.

Made Days of our lives seem reasonable.

Some left, others had a forced break (Doggies break was more permanant).

You have being trying to convince the rest of us on Heavy weather that we should look deeper into popular events that have happened or are happening in our world.

Things have happened right in front of your nose and you're none the wiser.

Took your eye off the ball.
