just looking at portarlington on the map and im wondering if it gets more of a northerly breeze then say point henry?

Im heading down to oceangrove for the weekend and im hoping if any wind comes its going to be a northerly and i want to maximize its potential.

You can get out there. Cant say I have noticed much difference in wind speed over Henry. Nicer place to kite though.

You can try Point Richards but its a bit of a sketchy launch even on low tide.

Personally I just head for Henry, its less hassle.

ever kited lake coonawarren? looks the biz in a Southerly?

I have windsurfed lake coonawarren really gusty but could be doable. Port Arlington is really good for kiting on a Northerly and down where the public boat ramp on Point Richards road is very good. You can do a great downwinder from Portarlington to Clifton Springs... You can then have a pub lunch at the golf club.... Point henry is still good on a northerly.... I did a crossing from Werribee South to Portarlington on a Nor West last year Hell fun... I did have a boat as back up though....

Hey

Have thought about it. Launch sites are limited and all a bit sketchy TBH. There are some big lakes out West (lake Colac etc) that I have always fancied a go at.
