As work is taking me to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam for a few months, I am thinking of taking my kite kit if there is anywhere useful to kite.

Has anybody got any suggestions where, and if there is any wind?

Thanks

An extract from a friend......

So good to hear from you! You wouldn't beleive the place
that I spent the last few days - absolute kiting heaven.
It's a place on the coast of Vietnam called Mui Ne.
Beautiful long beach with about 15-20 knots everyday that
we were there. There was probably about 20 guys from all
over the world kiting there every day and you could rent
gear if you wanted to as well.

Spent a month there last year,

you need to pick the right time of year - but Nha Trang is a locals beach resort town - and has sailboarding (even wave sailing) for hire. Very limited gear though and catamarans.

The wind is perfect for kiting however, and there are many more beaches like this.

Hoi An is also really worth a look. Same direction of breeze - and awesome swells. Remember China beach, well this is just up the road from Hoi An.

The town is also great to live in - a old French trading town.

Have fun.

I'd 2nd that HOi An is a beautiful place.
The locals are friendly and the food is excellent. Oh and very cheap!
If you want to visit the best beaches in the world though, stay home as they right here in our backyard.
Australia rocks; wouldnt want to live anywhere else.
