Can anyone tell me:

1) where to get it from

2) how much

3) how do you get a rocker with the foam

4) any other tips for a foam/formica/glass (carbon seems to hard with vacuum bagging, etc!) board?

Thanks

fibre glass and resin sales in welshpool. if you only need a bit rather than a whole sheet try hassling some boat builders for off cuts. Not sure how other people do it but you can get rocker by laminating 2 or more pieces on a jig.

THE WAY JIMMY LEWIS DOES IT IS HE SHAPES THE FOAM FLAT AND THEN CREATES THE ROCKER WHEN HE GLASSES BY VACCUMING IT ON A ROCKER TABLE.
ONCE THE GLASS GOES OFF IT HOLDS THE SHAPE.
HE DOES THE BOTTOM THEN THE TOP.
I GOT PRICES AND IT IS PROB CHEAPER TO BUY A LIQUID FORCE OR BEST BOARD COS U GOTTA BUY A HUGE SHEET OF DIVINICELL AND IT IS LIKE 200 PLUS BUCKS. THE U GOT GLASS N RESIN AND THEN FINS N INSERTS ETC.
THE ONLY CHEAP WAY I HAV FOUND TO MAKE A BOARD IS PLY, BUT THEN IT IS HEAVY.

OH AND ANOTHER TIP JL GAVE ME IS DONT BOTHER WITH CARBON, IT IS TOO DEAR AND DOES BUGGER ALL.
JUST USE ADEQUATE AMOUNTS OF GLASS.
THINK HE USES BET 5-7 FOR BOTTOM AND 4 ON TOP.
CANT QUITE RECALL THOSE NUMBERS, THINKK IT IS SOMETHIN LIKE THAT.
IF U EMAIL HIM ON HIS SITE HE IS HAPPY TO HELP ANYONE OUT.

CAUTION,

Yeah, I have done the ply thing, but thinking of expanding.

Is JL Jason Lewis? If not, what is address for Jimmy Lewis's site.

Anyone else, would surfboard blank foam work? (Assuming it is cheaper than dyvinicell)

JL IS HIMMY LEWIS, AS IN THE BIG GUY THAT ALL THE GUYS USE. THE ONE WITH THE UGLY DOLFIN OR KILLER WHALE LOGO.
JUST DO A SEARCH ON GOOGLE, IM TOO LAZY. IF I LOOK THERE I WILL JUST WANT A MYTH AND REALISE IM BROKE AGEN.

HEAPS OF PEOPLE USED TO USE SURFBOARD FOAM BUT IT REALLY IS NOT VERY STRONG.
RING THAT WELSHPOOL PLACE, THEY HAV HEAPS OF IDEAS AND EXPERIENCE. THEY HAVE HONEYCOMBE STUFF TOO. THEY MAY HAV SOMETHING CHEAPER THAT WILL WORK.
EVER THORT ABOUT SOMETHING NEW LIKE POLYEURATHANE OR SOMETHIN?
I HAV A SHEET I BORT FOR SOME MUDFLAPS AND WAS THINKIN IT WOOD BE SWEET IF U COOD GET IT STIFFER (WHICH I KNOW U CAN DO)
IF U CAN GET IT TO HOLD A REASONABLE SHAPE BUT STILL WITH SOME FLEX CHARACTERISTICS IT WOOD NEVER BREAK AND WOOD BE LIGHT.....
JUST IDEAS...
THE OTHER OPTION IS LIKE THE "ADDICTION" AND "DIRTAY PIGGIES" USING PAWLONIA WOOD (NOT SURE ON THE SPELLING, BUT THEN WHEN AM I EVER SURE?)

(Also, I presume you meant 80g not 80kg?)

Most foams are usually weighed in kg per cubic metre, so I think he does mean kg's

flatus :

A reflex that expels intestinal gas through the anus [syn: fart, farting, wind, breaking wind]

[L., fr. flare to blow.] 1. A breath; a puff of wind. --Clarke.

2. Wind or gas generated in the stomach or other cavities of the body. --Quincy.
