in the river is pretty sweet, done it myself and it's beaut !

Ive kited at the river there also. Down towards the boats is where I would head after launching because the river mouth runs pretty fast.

Yeap the river is really the only option. A bit gusty at times but no worse than the Swan. There's a perfect spot to launch opposite the Ampol??/Supermarket. You can drive down to within 2 metres of the beach and park under a tree.
