Hi.

I'm new in Brisbane and Australian.
I'd like to know where I can find 3mm spectra lines (by the meter), metal rings, beads? I want to build homemade 5th line system but I need to buy some stuff before..

Can someone give me advice and/or name of places close to the city where I can find these kind of materials?

Both Binks online and Whitworths will have what you are after. Depending on where you are.

I think Whitworths have shops in Queensland.

I'm also considering creating a 5th line for an older model kite, but don't have much specific info on the finer points involved. I was wondering whether you'd mind explaining exactly what you're planning to do with your rings?

Whitworths don't have the right line.
There is a shop in the Bowen hills area which has proper kite line and also 3-4mm spectra which I am currently putting together for a 5th setup. Shop is called Glasscraft Marine.

They have a great range of gear.

The rings can be used instead of stopper balls.
If I find beads to function as stopper balls I won't use rings.

What is a proper kite line for the 5th line? also Spectra or something else? 2mm width? other?

Just got back from the shop in fortitude valley.
Got all the necessary lines, beads etc...
Hope to assemble on the weekend.
