Hey MC,

There are several "resorts" and I use the inverted commas for a reason! There are a couple in Thailand ie Kiteboardingasia.com and cuttlebone kiteboarding. CB is in Pattaya and KBA is in Koh Samui and also Hua Hin.

There is a full on kiting "resort" in Vietnam and it gets really windy. Sorry don't know the name or location, but a friend visited a few years back and said it kicked ass. They even have kids rig your gear and inflate your kite while you put your harny on!!!

Search through Google! Good Luck!

I don't know if these options are ideal for your situation, but I thought I'd throw them out anyway.

Boracay Island, Philippines - It's not exactly the easiest place to get to (fly to manila, taxi to domestic air terminal, small prop plane to Caticlan, walk to jetty, 15-minute ferry to Boracay Island) but if you're interested and want more info, you can email me. It's pretty cheap and the one hour massages on the beach are fantastic! Accommodation ranges from huts with salt water showers to resorts. See www.boracayisland.org (http://www.boracayisland.org/hangin.shtml is my mate's kitesurfing school), www.boracay.com, www.boracayonline.com, etc. The Asian Windsurfing tour will be there from 31 January - 5 February 2005 so that might not be the best time to go because the bay will be full of windsurfers.

Actually, now that I think about it, the AWT might give you some good ideas for windy spots in Asia. See www.asianwindsurfingtour.com. I went to the Saipan event a couple of years ago and can give you information about that location. Bintan is also meant to be really nice, but I haven't been there myself.

Good luck and let us know if you find something!
