G'day Warren,

Tony will be there showing us how it's done. A few familiar faces from the Fiji crew will be there ripping it up.

I'll probably see you in Fiji again, around August, work's been given notice already... can't wait to checkout the finished villa; it was looking pretty splendid even when half built... the villa's beach frontage and "that" beach will make it bloody hard to come home next time.

Have fun at Winda Woppa.

Regards,
Aaron.

PS... who won the Sydney kite-off challenge, you or Lisa?

Hi Aaron

I guesed Tony would be there....you will have fun!

I am doing the Sydney to Noosa drive from Feb 14 - 19, so may get back and down to see you at Sandy Point during your dates 19-25 Feb...so don't be surprised if a flashy White Van pulls up in the Sandy Point Carpark...look out!

I'll be posting some photos on the website once the landscaping is all completed...soon.

Lisa and i had a beer instead..seemed the only safe way to preserve my life, guessed she wouldn't be very happy when my i ripped past her on my kite. The challenge has been put off for a while.

She is focused on getting her IKO Instructors, so that is her aim in the next few months.....

G'day Warren,

I don't envy you of that drive... not without the odd beach stop or two... three... oops, there goes that schedule

Make sure that the flashy white van has got at least one kite outfit jammed inside of it's vast "Tardis" like interior... we wanna see that new skill of yours in action

Great to see that Lisa is going to be Tassie's latest, possibly first, IKO instructor... definitely the way to cure a kiter's loneliness on the water, train more kiters. Soon there will be no excuses for not kiting in Tassie.

(WARNING: poor Tasmanian joke ahead!)
Does anyone know if Gath make a tandem model?

Azza.

good to see you spreading the sandy point word.
just think! a whole week of wilson's prom wind and the flat water of shallow inlet, plus good food and super comfy accom.

A new rule!
Instructor gets dibs on video footage for "funniest home video"

currently sailboarders and kiters are equal numbers.
should be fun for dvd choices at night.

Hi Tony

We've been talking about you for years!

I may make it down, but i am on hell 2 week schedule...Queensland and then Melbourne...so if i can i will make it further down.. Looking forward to seeing the FIJI crew from last year again...before they come back this year!

I saw Lisa in Sydney before she headed back to Tassie...had a beer as i couldn't handle the pressure of blasting her on the water!

For anyone else interested in Kiting and learning to kite better, Tony is a great Instructor that visited us in Fiji last year with a cool gang and we all had a great time...You will improve if you get along to Sandy Point with him...i am envious i can't spend the entire week there.....bummer!

Have fun..just had a quiet 10 knots at Winda woppa....really peacful weekend!

Wazza,

come on ya ... Stop being a Nancy boy; we all now that Lisa kicked your butt all over Sydney[!] (God knows, some of us saw what she did to you in Fiji last year! BTW. Did it scar?)

After that 10 knot'er you should be well rested for the drive from Qld to Vic; it'd be much easier than driving from Raki Raki to Nadi... any-day!... and that's only ~200kms or less!!

We all know you're an ACE sailboarder, that's moote, but we wanna see you kite!!!

Come on Wazza, don't be a woose, show us that newfound kite skill... this is a kite forum ya' know

will he or won't he?

warren versus lisa the showdown of the century.

warren turning up at sandy point, mmmmmmmmm?

he has been known to squeal a bit at wind woppa when the nose of a sonic sailboard has been inserted at planning speed into the soft area of his seat harness, imagine the blunt end of a stonker.

Alright..alright....that's enough!

Sure you weren't there in Fiji when i launched the white 8.5m kite on my Cabrinha board and blasted across to the island on a stonking 30-35 knot S.E. Survived two laps..made it back upwind to the boatramp on my return much to the crowds delight that had gathered on Ellington wharf to watch this experience...

That was in November, when Sacha from Switzerland was there kiting with me...had a ball. He was landing jumps over the 3m high wooden steps at the end of the wharf, wearing flouro pants and all the gear...looked flashy! Sacha then went to christchurch and i met with him back in Sydney last week, before dropping him back at the airport on Tuesday to go back to Nz on his way back to Switzerland....man...he is bummed his ticket isn't back via Fiji...He had such a good time.....

So yes..Lisa is coming back to Fiji and is up for the challenge.... IT IS ON !!!!

Lisa didn't kick my ass in Sydney....we both decided a beer at a pub was a much safer option..than beating her and having her moping all the way back to Tassie..on a tall ship!

Sweet revenge and yes, the Fiji scars have healed - thanks for remembering...!

Azza,
where's that picture of you, kilometres from any land, standing in waist deep water on a reef in fiji.
that water was as flat as shallow inlet in 30kts .

there is more room for extra people for the sandy point week, seeing as original house was double booked so new one has four more beds.

might save these for day trippers?

Hey shezza,

better note that this is an old thread and the prices azza put at the start are different, it's only 5days not 8, so it works out at $120/day pp for instruction and $80pp/day non instruction.
