Hi everyone,

We are currently in the learning stages of kiteboarding, and with all the stuff going on with the so called accident at leighton, just wondering some good places to go out and do a bit of body dragging without cleaning up some old dude and his kids.

Cheers

I would honestly say that the beach isnt the best place to learn anyway, with the swell and current, and if u **** up, ur ****ed!. i'd say best place to learn is in the shallow waters of pelican point because if you get into dificulty, you can just stand up!! Plus theres the factor that the public dont really swim in the water there so it puts you at ease that you dont have any kids to dodge!

thats my opinion anyway

PS. have lessons to for safety!!

To be honest I think that the ocean is the place to learn.....I learnt at Pinaroo where you can drag downwind all the way to the surf club at Mullaloo. Its a bay so it is relatively flat, definately no swell so no currents. Also the beach between Pinnas and Mullaloo is relatively empty so when you have had enough you can come in and drop your kite without worrying too much about taking someone out. Best to come in well before the surfclub because that is where most people swim and sunbathe. If worrying about going too far out then just stay inside of the yellow ski markers they aren't too far out.

Also there is a good crew of people that are willing to give you a hand if unsure about anything. I also say get yourself a lesson so that you know how to pack up your gear in the water incase something goes wrong.
