I'm looking at buying a new kite, either 12 or 14 Gaastra GXR or Airush Lift. I'm currently flying a 9.3 Warrior and weigh 78kg. What do you think is the better size for the seabreeze and make?

Mark, I'm about 77 kgs and I fly an airush lift 12 which is the best all rounder that I have flown. I also have a GXR 16 which is awesome. I always said that if I had to get another 12 it would be another airush. Very stable, well built, easy to relaunch. I've never had to put the 16 up when flying on the ocean. The 12 always does the job. As for a 14.......... on a good day you might be over powered.

Weigh bout 90kg and fly a 14 Cabrinha CO2. Great for 15-20 or 18-23 (absolutely maxed out on my 140 board) but any more than that and I am overpowered. With your weight I reckon snowy is on the money with a 12 being an allrounder.

You do mean you're looking at changing your Warrior for an inflatable hey? If so the others are right, a 12m inflatable is perfect. Am still waiting to try the 12m '04 Lift but can't bring myself to get off my 11.5 '03 Lift, it is still my favourite kite ever! If you're looking at keeping your Warrior and getting an inflatable in addition to it then a 15m/16m would be the trick for the lighter winds. Good luck

85kg
lift 11.5, 15.5
found them to really good, stable, predictable jump good etc
my one criticism is they are heavy to turn say cf naish x2 which has a light feel to the bar pressure
& need to be flown on front lines ++
11.5 good to 25kn max for me, the usual 18-23 days spot on
ok to water relaunch 15.5 is pretty easy, i found 16m x2 impossible, would keep turning itself inside out

For the large part of last season i had just one kite that was the 14m GXR. I no that kite like the back of my hand and if i was reduced to 1 kite that would be it. By alternating between the river(were it is lighter) and the beach i kited almost everyday their was wind. Its range with a 130cm board is 11 to 25knots but is ideal in 17 to 23(i weight 67kgs). Hope this helps with your choice
