The main bladder on my North 12 has twisted. When I go to pump it up the valve gets drawn into the kite. I have tried to get my hand inside the leading edge and twist the bladder around but doesn't seem to help.

1: Why does it start to twist. Am I doing something wrong?

2: When it does twist is there anything I can do to untwist it? Any Tricks?

Serious pain in the butt.

This can happen from folding the kite really fast & putting twists in the leading edge, or when you pump the LE up without laying the kite out nice & flat. Anyway its easy to fix.

What you need to do is pull the side of the bladder thats twisted out, or just the whole bladder if you not confident and follow the instructions available at the North website for putting in a bladder (its easy)....

http://www.northkites.com/index.cfm

Go to the downloads section a watch the video on it.
Also a tip is to get a friend to help for pulling out & putting back in the bladder.(get them to pull the string while you feed the bladder through) Use a bit of baby powder to help it slide into place & fold the badder up so it's easy to feed through & you know its all going in the right way.

Yeah normally when you don't roll the LE up properly.
Or sometimes after you pack it on a plane

-Just pump it up half way and start flattening the kink/twists out with your hand.. it normally works. Might have to inflate and deflate a couple of times to get it flattened out.
-You can also get a mate to pump the kite while you slowly push out all the kinks.
- if all else fails, remove the damn thing, powder the whole bladder and feed it in again.

These guys are correct.
The only time i've had a problem is when I started to roll up the kite from one end to the other to save time/lazy etc. Eventually the bladder works its way around/toward one end. One bit of good advise I read is to neatly layout the LE then fold (not roll) each end toward the middle. Never had a problem since.

I used to get this all the time. Put a heap of baby powder down there and that should help it slide around. When you pump up make sure the middle of the leading edge where you pump it up is straight. If you start with a kink there, when it gets hard and straightens the valve gets pulled in.
