Well if you wanted wind da crew got it on in GERALDTON . The swell really didnt pump, but combined with the wind at around 18 to 22, from 9am and22-27 real knots in the arvo on a 1m swell created a punchy 2to 3 foot pits. They were ridable upto 50m down the line.
We ran the majority of the waves out the back on the outer reef behind KITTIES.We were in lindsey 24 foot ex fisheries persute centre console, with two 90 yammmmes. On da water there was ,2 jet skies, a mad glass bottom thing like a space shuttle, a small 14 footer centre console.
The boat was anchored right on a nearly dry section of reef about as big as a half court, after the wave finished it would wash over this, and held us in an ideal position to judge the action.
The standard of heats got better as the pit smacking, wave milking, smooth gouge curvers, moved through to the finals.
The standard was set in the masters early with da strap on surf board style scoreing well.
The ladys final wasnt bad with the winner clearly able to mix it.
Da Youth carved it up and impressed the judges
The last 8 or so in the open showed how to read the conditions and put on a show
I can say to every one in the waves the results between all the judges ran 95% the same way . Giving you a true reflection of your performance.
To all da officials/ and helpers on da beach and on da water, good times see ya soon
